day 0 at sydney

i just realised that this is my 5th day in sydney! time really flies, right?

day o

although it was supposed to be a busy day, sis and i still went to 客家会馆 where yan and pohmeng registered their marriage. then went back home and we started to pack the many big bags into the volvo 7-seater car. this is to make sure that we can have 7 people travelling to klia later (2 at the front, 4 in the middle, 1 at the back) woohoo! super happy when we managed to pack the luggages in sia. :)

had lunch. then was just slacking at home, doing nothing. then then then.............

at 4 plus pm (we were supposed to leave by 5pm), the volvo car's alarm rang on its own! OMG! it was my first time hearing that. apparently last time after it rang, my dad was driving it and it just stopped suddenly! what a good car. just stop and dont wanna move a single bit.

so dad decided to drive the volvo out for a while. hmmmm, after that, we decided not to risk it. so yupp, change car last minute! got to change to the normal 5 seater merc.

so there was this frantic rush unloading the luggages and then packing them in again. luckily, luckily, we managed to squeeze the luggages in, although one of them had to be put at the front. rarh.

not the problem is, this car cant take 7 people for nuts! so ya, very very very sadly, da yi decided that she wont go. so sorry, yi yi! i will make sure you get to go the next time ya 

it was raining all the way from muar to klia. hmmm, as a thick skinned xiuling, i was saying that the sky in malaysia had to weep because I was leaving. LOL

anyway, checked in pretty early, at about 7 plus pm. oh ya, my sis and i think that the guy forgot to weigh one of our bags! as this is sensitive and confidential, ask me if you want more info. LOL. but i think we checked in more than 60kg of luggages. LOL

then we went to eden to eat dinner. super ex sia, so i tried to finish all the food. hahaha. super full after that. then we just sat there and talked and took pictures while waiting for si gu zhang to come over. he is coming to pass sth to my sis and to wait for my si gu who would be flying back from spore.

oh ya, not forgetting, honghu called when i was talking with this other person who is from muar while walking to eat dinner. ivy called when i was done eating but still in the restaurant. i called aidan just before i went in, cos i had to give the sim card back to my youngest brother.

ok, so sis and i went in. went to gate c32. had to take the train thingy.

when we are in there, met this friend of sis called khai yi (petronas scholar, doing petroleum engineering) and also this friend called kai chin (b. commerce, like me!)

oh ya! we did sth super funny. the plane was 747. so there were 2 storeys. khai yi, sis and i went up the 2nd storey and took pictures! super funny. it was pretty small and only had the business class seats. but the air stewardess was quite kind to let us take pics. hahahaha.

oh ya, sis's seat was at the isle while i was between the isle and the window. the person sitting next to me was a doctor who went to langkawi for a conference. and it turned out that the hosp where she works at is just behind UNSW. LOL. oh ya, i think she is super tired, so she slept quite a lot.

oh ya, suppose to not eat while i was on the plane, cos i ate a lot for dinner, remember? but i still ate a bit of the stuff that they gave ba. haha, i paid for it leh. LOL

oh ya, i like the MAS seat cos that head rest can be adjusted to like keep your head in place. woohoo! like there was a window for the head to lean on. haha.

after some time, i started sleeping like a pig until breakfast came. i think i slept for nearly 4 hours only. breakfast was okay, i think. then i continued sleeping a bit here and there.

oh ya, khai yi's seat was beside the isle too. it was and empty seat beside her and then this guy was sitting beside the window. he is so funny. when he wants to come out from his seat, he kinda do like a monkey moving thingy to come out. hahaha. maybe cos he has super long legs and he is quite skinny. LOL

before i forget, i managed to bring my dearest darling bear bear who is 3 years old plus with me! woohooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

packing

xiuling is busy packing! :)

driving test

xiuling went for her long awaited car driving test today.

supposed to reach at 8am. but i reached earlier and was reading while stoning there. i was so so so sleepy there lo. kept yawning.

then finally went to queue. i was candidate number 15.

after i sat down at the chair number 15, i looked around and wow! why am i like the only chinese candidate there?! that kinda mirrors the society composition of malaysia, right?

then start another round of sitting down, while waiting to be called to drive.

after nearly 1 hour, cand no 11 to 20 were asked to go and do 'parking, 3 point turn, and the bukit thingy'

woohoo! didnt make any mistakes (assumed, cos the person didnt ask me to stop or anything mah)

then went to sit down again... wait wait wait......

half an hour plus later, comes the driving on the road thingy. haha, made a stupid mistake. but well, i still passed with a not very fantastic score of 17/20.

the point is I PASS!

hahahahahahaha

hopefully i get my P license soon :)


i wonder, wonder if the two malay candidates who were sitting in front of me, who mati enjine a few times, passed the test too.

V Day 2009

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone out there! woohoo!!!






realizations of the day:
- getting married is quite tiring

- getting married is a matter between two families, not only between two persons

- if u take care of yourself properly, u can still be walking briskly and eating and drinking and talking as if u r 70 even when u r already 90 years old!

- muar tanjung has a good car park that is dark enough for couples to park their cars

- it doesnt mean that everyone who drops out of school early are samseng who have the same look

- i have seen many couples who are quite the opposite in terms of size. LOL


last but not least, CONGRATULATIONS TO XIN YAN AND POH MENG!
yan, you will be my neighbour again.
poh meng, too bad that we are relatives now and i can bully you more! LOL

perak's politics

so apparently sth big big big big big just happened in perak. there were just too many frogs 'leaping' from one party to another that has caused the still current state government to collapse. the sultan has rejected application to dissolve the state assembly. so possibly, tomorrow barisan nasional (bn) will go to the sultan of perak and ask to form a new government. and hooray! Perak has a new state government, a new menteri besar after less than a year of change!

how wonderful is that, right? people always say that changes are good, they are the only thing in the world that are constant. they bring about opportunities and hopes.









thinking back again. how has this change been brought about? is it really for the good of the people in perak? i dont know and i m in no position for comment.

if it is for the good of the people. i congrats the people of perak that they have chosen representatives who truly represent them

if it is for some personal gain, i regret to say that this makes my heart ache

if they are forced to make such decisions due to circumstances that they cannot say to anyone, then i m sorry that the politics and the running of this country has to come to this state.








i dont know. maybe i m off touch with this country.

they made a choice then.







i m puzzled. then why is it that the change of government hasn't been put into the hands of the people of perak again? can we let them make a choice again? it is their state.

prep for aus

Xiuling finally solved her prolem and enrolled for her course at UNSW for Semester 1, 2009 YESTERDAY! Thanks to sis, to Mr. Lim at IDP Singapore :) woohoo! felt so relieved yesterday after enrolling :) and i got my unimail also. woohooo!!!

paid my air ticket in full also. airport tax came down! haha, saved me rm598. it was rm4367 when the person quoted in january. now it is rm3769. hahaha. so happy :)

ok, now i have got my accommodation done, my air ticket done, my enrolment done. i m pretty much ready to leave?

went to drive also, this was my 4th driving lesson. :)

xiuling just realised that when they say 3-room flat, it meant that they flat has 2 bedrooms! LOL

visit to kundang ulu + serom

yesterday, went to kundang ulu with my mum to visit my mum's aunt. she is already 93 years old and she is still strong enough to walk with her tongkat and all. salute sia!

anyway, so i havent been to kundang ulu for years.
it is really quite ulu. takes about 1 hour from muar
muar - tanjong agas - rawang - sg sendok - sg mati - serom - bkt gambir - grisek - kundang ulu
woohoo!!!
it was really quite kampung. i shall upload the pics later on when i transfer them from my mum's phone, cos i didnt bring my camera.

oh ya, i went to my aunt's house at serom too! haha! i grew up at that house! was there since i was an infant till i was in kindergarten. hahaha. when i get my license, i will go there again before i go to australia :)

ppl say that it is economic recession now, and that we are in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. but there are evidences that some people have been waiting and preparing for this time. it is time to get good deals and to invest in things, because prices are mostly dropping! of course, xiuling wants to be in the group of those benefiting from this time like many others. but how to do it? hmmmm, xiuling should go and do some research.

is it true that the really rich are still really rich even at recessions that they can still spend as if they are isolated from all these situations?
